General Guidelines
Jump right in! Anyone is free to edit wiki pages.
Ask for help and collaborate. If you need editing help or want opinions, just ask! Work with other editors to create great content. The discord or discussion area are great places for this. Or, contact another user directly on their message wall.
Assume good faith. Most people who work on a wiki are trying to help it, not hurt it.
Be nice. Behavior that is mean, hateful, bullying, disrespectful, threatening, a personal attack, or similar, is not allowed. Edit warring (changing content back and forth) is not allowed.
Content should be factual and encyclopedic in nature. Subjective information such as opinions and recommendations generally do not belong on article pages except for pages that are guide-like.
Do not add advertising, references to paid services, or references to external content into wiki pages. This includes links, embedded content, videos, descriptions of third-party services, etc. Links to the official VRising website are allowed and URLs used as source citations are allowed, but anything else requires admin approval.
Do not plagiarize content.
Do not post illegal, NSFW, pornographic, or personal information through any mechanism.
Do not add spam/off-topic information into or vandalize pages. Any content that is inappropriate, nonsensical, or off-topic fits into this category. Users observing this behavior may revert bad edits and should contact an admin. Off-topic restrictions are relaxed for user profile pages and message walls, so long as the content isn't otherwise inappropriate.
Do not use sockpuppet accounts.
Do not make superfluous page edits, such as in an attempt to obtain badges or inflated contribution counts.
Administrators and moderators shall not abuse their powers.
Profile Pages
- You are allowed to share information about yourself on your profile page. This is a space about you.
- Information related coordinating and planning your work on this wiki is also allowed.
- However, it's not a custom web space where you can post excessive web page-like content, upload photo albums, or the like.
- Don't post negative or inappropriate information about other users.
Blocks
- The admins of this wiki may, in their judgement, elect to block users that violate any of this wiki's policies or Fandom's terms of use.
- A blocked user may appeal a ban by contacting an admin no sooner than 24 hours after the block was initiated. Contact should be via the message wall on this wiki. If that is not possible, contact can be made via the message wall on the Fandom Community Central wiki.
Page Protection
Most pages on this wiki will remain unprotected to encourage all users to edit. In some situations such as these, pages may be protected:
- To protect the layout of the wiki itself (main page, high-use templates, etc.).
- Pages with history of vandalism.
- To stop an active edit war.
Contact an admin or moderator on their wall, or start a discussion, to request that a pages be protected or unprotected.
Path to Moderatorship and Adminship
- Any member of the community may recommend any other member for moderator or admin positions by sending this recommendation to an admin or posting a discussion.
