Vile Corruption
More actions
Vile Corruption is a common debuff inflicted primarily by taking damage from Corrupted Attacks inside Oakveil Woodlands.
Effects
- Reduces healing received by 5% per stack, stacking up to 10 times.
Mechanics
A stack of Vile Corruption is applied each time the player is hit by a Corrupted Attack, found mostly on Corrupted V Blood Carriers and stronger Corrupted units in the Oakveil Woodlands. In addition, a stack is gained passively every 20 seconds while the player is in a corrupted area of the region. These areas can generally be identified by purple patches of liquid on the ground, and often by the presence of Corrupted Oak trees and Corrupted Flowers. Most areas marked on the map in the Oakveil Woodlands are corrupted areas.
A stack of Vile Corruption is lost every 2.5 second while the player is not within a corrupted area, which is the only way to remove the debuff.
Countermeasures
Vile Corruption cannot be resisted. Stacks applied by attacks can be avoided by avoiding or countering the attack, but stacks passively applied by being in a corrupted area cannot be avoided. The only direct countermeasure currently available is using
Corrupted Blood, either as a primary blood type or as a secondary via the Blood Homogenizer. The tier II effect reduces the maximum number of Vile Corruption stacks by 4 - 8, depending on blood quality, at the cost of increasing Blood drain rate by 50 - 100%. At 100% blood quality, the Tier V bonus amplifies this to grant complete immunity to Vile Corruption (by reducing the maximum stacks from 10 to 0).
