Overview
Rare Ancestral Weapon Shards are shattered weapons that can be restored into usable weapons at the ![]()
Ancestral Forge or fused with other ancestrals at the ![]()
Fusion Forge. They're randomly generated, including their names. While they are considered to be tier six alongside merciless iron weapons (Gear Level 18), they are more powerful (Gear Level 20).
They are guaranteed to drop from Carriages in Dunley Farmlands, have a 50% chance to drop from Tier 1 Rift Incursions and a 25% chance from Level 53 - 76 V Blood Carriers (excluding Terah & Gaius).
May also be purchased directly from the southern Vampire Merchant for ![]()
750 Stygian Shards each.
They're infused with 2 random attributes in addition to their random Spell School effect, causing secondary Weapon Skill (Q) hits to inflict
Leech / Ignite / Condemn / Weaken / Chill / Static.
Unlike ![]()
Epic Ancestral Weapons, they can be upgraded twice at the ![]()
Ancestral Forge by using a Dark Silver & Sanguine weapon of the same type. Doing so increases the ancestral weapon's tier, Gear Level (20, 24, 27) and physical power (19.9, 24.3, 29.3) while keeping their ability modification and attribute stats.

Crafting
Rolling a Specific Rare Ancestral Shard
Given that there are 6 possible infusions, the chance to roll a desired one is 1/6. (16.67%)
Given that there are 14 possible attributes, and you get 2 distinct rolls to obtain your desired one, the chance to roll your desired attribute is: <math>1 - \left(\frac{13}{14} \times \frac{12}{13}\right) = 1 - \frac{6}{7} = \frac{1}{7} \approx 0.1429\ (14.29\%)</math>
Thus, the chance to roll a rare shard with a specific infusion + a specific attribute is: <math>\frac{1}{6} \times \frac{1}{7} = \frac{1}{42} \approx 0.0238\ (2.38\%)</math> Which is the equivalent of about 1 in 42 weapons.
