</aside>Dueling Banner is a unique item used for initiating duels, also known as Contests between 2 players. It can be initiated most places in the open world, and in player territories.
Contests are risk-free, as instead of dying when your health is reduced to 0, you're instead restored to max health, meaning you do not drop a death bag or drain your Blood Pool / durability.
The winner of the contest will be visually crowned temporarily.
Is available on both PvE and PvP servers.
Initiating a Duel
To initiate a duel, simply place down the flag via the action bar or right clicking the banner in your Inventory.
Once an opposing player has accepted the duel by interacting with the banner, the contest will commence after a 5 second countdown.
A Death Vortex will form a perimeter around both players during the duel, damaging anyone venturing into it.
The 
Arena Station allows for more elaborate contests, along with fine control over team size, arena size, Death Vortex speed, etc.
