The trail of this scent bears the unmistakable signature of Dracula, the Immortal King. When Dracula fell, he cursed the world of Vardoran with a blood rain, a scourge in which many perished. Some who survived became unknowingly twisted by the downpour, their bloodlines forever empowered by his malice. This mighty predator is infused with that legacy.

Alpha the White Wolf is the lowest level (Level 16) V Blood Carrier in V Rising, and likely the first that a player will successfully hunt. The Alpha Wolf will attack any non-wolf creatures that it meets along its path. Interestingly, if the player is in Wolf Form the Alpha Wolf will ignore them.

Location

Alpha Wolf can be found roaming the roads of the Farbane Woods region. It tends to walk along the roads in a circuit around the central part of the region, near the Wolf Den. It will often cross paths with and fight Lidia the Chaos Archer and Goreswine the Ravager. It will also fight any Bandit or Undead enemy that crosses its path.

Attacks

Bite - Standard melee attack.
Lunge - The Alpha Wolf will crouch down for a second in preparation and then launch itself forward in a straight line.
Rage - The Alpha Wolf howls and glows red, launch itself in a straight line and bite 2 times.
Summon Minions - The Alpha Wolf stops for a moment, howls, and summons 2 regular wolves to join the fight.

Brutal Difficulty

Pounce - During the Rage phase, the Alpha Wolf pounces on and stuns the player while biting them multiple times (similarly to the Slaughterbeast).

Strategy

Alpha Wolf is the first V blood carrier, as a result this fight is fairly simple and can be tackled as long as the player has been following the quests. Like other roaming V Blood Carriers, it is possible to kite either Alpha Wolf or roaming bandits into a fight against each other leaving you to mop up the weakened victor. Be mindful that if a mob is kited too far from the initial point of aggro, they will disengage and return to that point of aggro, this is true even mid fight.

An alternative strategy is to setup your base and mine some Copper Nodes within Farbane Woods to then craft a Copper Weapon which will make you overpowered for this fight and able to take on the next couple of Vblood carriers straight away (this method may in fact increase efficiency if you are trying to get through the starting area quickly).
