Overview
Unlike other counters, Discharge can block an indefinite amount of attacks. Storm Shields last for 5s.
It was nerfed in 1.0 Hotfix #6 the following ways:
- Stun duration reduced to 0.6s from 0.8s.
- Jewel that allows you to recast, damage reduced from 25 - 50% to 15 - 30% and knockback effect power reduced by ~25%.
- Jewel increasing stun duration reduced from 0.2 - 0.4s to 0.1 - 0.3s.
- Jewel granting immaterial, duration reduced from 0.8 - 1.6s to 0.8 - 1.2s
It was nerfed further in the 1.1 Update the following ways:
- The immaterial jewel was removed.
- Targets triggering the counter are no longer subjected to the stun or knockback effect if they're immaterial when the trigger happens. Static is still inflicted.
- The recast jewel now inflicts a fading snare rather than knockback (no longer interrupting casts).

History
Discharge was initially released during V Rising's first expansion, Secrets of Gloomrot, on May 17th, 2023.
It was unlocked by slaying Henry Blackbrew the Doctor. It had a cooldown of 9s and the following effect:
| “ | Block melee and projectile attacks for up to 1.5s. Turn immaterial and travel to cursor location when an attack is blocked. Passing through an enemy deals 50% magic damage, inflicts Static and launches the target into the air for 3s. |
” |
In the 1.0 Update it would receive a rework into its current iteration.
